{Mash Up} Autumn Inspiration

I’ve been travelling for about a week, enjoying my RL. Hopefully, keep your fingers crossed, some major life changes lie ahead. Between meetings, we took in the sights and enjoyed a slightly warmer climate.  I can’t get over the significant drop in temp since arriving home.  With the windows open, I can hear the lake on property.  You know, that sound of the gentle “waves” that rushes against the rocky edge. Wow, I love this house in the fall.  Taking inspiration from this, I found elements around the grid that help me convey this cool crispness in the air.

I created this mashup using a sweater from Haute Style & Co. The cow-neck with feather bow is a terrific accent to the wide cableknit of the sweater.  The cuffs and belt repeat the ribbon detailing along the hem. Paired with a brown kilt-like skirt from KUROTSUBAKI makes this the perfect autumn attire.  Even the skin, milky and smooth has a hint of a pink cheeck just like one would after siting in chilly air.

The finish details are the Celestial Studios handbag with ribbon maryjanes from Kookie.  No jewelry for this outfit. I find it rather refreshing as many mashups are heavy on embellishments. With the details in the sweater and plaid in the skirt, other accessories were just too overpowering for this look.  This one is simple and casual, no need for flashy.  Perhaps I enjoy the mix of fabrics more than metals – the suede, the ribbon, the wool.

Check out the style sheet for the details.
