*Review* Dutch Touch – For the Guys!

Ahhh finally! I can shop at Dutch Touch! I see and hear all the chicas raving about Iki and her store.  Sure, she has had a small men’s line … and now added more items.  Here’s just a small sampling of the new items.

Basics are always hard to come by for us guys.  Not sure why designers don’t spend more time making solid quality tees and sweaters.  Iki totally got this one right.  With her jeans being a two-fer, they are a fantastic buy.  They come in ripped and standard… and, the kicker, they can be worn with or without the prim cuffs. Either way, the jeans look complete with the awesome shading and detailing.

For the tees and sweaters, in typical Dutch Touch style, they range in a wide variety of colors.  Also, they come on mostly all the layers.  I paired the tee and sweater together for the pics.  The tees come with prim cuffs and in two options, round or v-neck.

If you haven’t shopped at Dutch Touch, check ‘em out. Come back often too, I hear there are more and more items added for guys and girls.

*Review* {Zaara}

{Zaara} is a store packed with beautiful finds that are inspired by Indian fashion.  Just today, Zaara Kohime released sheer shirts, mini jackets and velour slacks.  These new releases are perfect to add to my inventory.  The jacket, called Inka, is perfect for this season’s latest mini jacket trend (that I can’t get enough of). Even the sheer shirt is a fantastic essential.  The shirt is available with all the layers.  Just like the jacket, there is more than one way to wear it. I think my fav is the velour slacks.  The low slung waist that hugs the hips adds that sex appeal.  Each of these items are sold separately … and work so very well together as a complete outfit.  Also, each item comes in a variety of colors and sold in fat packs.

*Review* -azul- JS

Mami Jewell, owner of -azul-, just released a stunnign gown that can be summed up in one word – va-va-voom! Ok well maybe that’s three, but still wow!!  I’m not a real reviewer of gowns but when something catches my eye, it needs to be shown.

This gown, named JS, speaks for itself (and some!). It comes in beautiful eight tones and boasts of amazing texturing.  Very minimal prims for the skirt and no adjustments needed, at least for me. Head on over to -azul- if you haven’t done so recently.  Check out this gown and all the other great finds at -azul-! Please don’t blame me if you go broke while there… the dresses are really just that good!

Unlikely Colors

Well look at this … I’m wearing color. Never thought you would see the day, huh? Me too.  Ever see something and instantly know what you would wear with the item?! This is what exactly happened to me last nite.  I could barely get back to my studio before I started adding the embellishments in my mind … its the one time I wish inventory would be available during teleports!

So you’re probably asking what the hell started this outfit … It was the shirt.  Really it was the color. The bright vivid green, in my mind, screamed out brown mini skirt.  What’s so great about it is that the shirt is for the guys. Yup, its a man’s shirt.  The shading is just perfect to fit the female form. With just a few minor prim adjustments, it kinda looks like it would be made for us chicks. I guess that’s the beauty of wearing guy’s clothing (and so true in RL).

Keeping in mind that large-as-life green, I wanted to give it a soft femmy backdrop.  Using another textured sweater in a tomato tone, I kinda stumbled into using the long sleeves. It works with the earthyness especially with the bangles … they even have an added bonus of interesting textures and colors.

Again, the colors pull this together.  That brown needed to continue regardless.  So it was just a change in texture that keeps your eye moving to the boots.  The crotchet leggings also add to the earthyness. To throw off and still add interest, is the bag.  I did tint down the red tone.  Now it blends into the red shirt and pairs well with the brown tones from the waist down.

To complete the look, I used an understated skin and one of my fav new hairs.  Gotta love a messy side poofy hair with a pale pink pouty lip. Too cute not to love.

*Review* Dutch Touch

I’m so slacking on doing a clothing post for Dutch Touch.  I have a ton to show off!  Iki has been (and still is) busy, busy and more busy.  She has a few new guy things in the works (potentially released by now, if not very soon) and has redone her store layout again. For the chicas, she has a new skin line out (posted earlier) and several new outfits and, of course, seperates.  The majority of her designs have a layered effect.  This means without the jacket there is a cute top underneath.  Sure things may not be created on all the layers but for this, who cares! *Review* PXL – Grace Natural Skins

I don’t think I have ever done a back-to-back skin review for the same designer.  Typically I prefer not to for some quirky reason. At any rate, I felt that I should share with you my honest and frank thoughts on Grace, the newest skin line from PXL.

With me explore a more blonde side, this skin is a welcomed addition to my lineup.  The milky tone is just slightly lighter than a sunkissed.  What really appeals to me, eventhough I’m wearing a platinum hair color, a deep brown would be so utterly dramatic. 

I think I was secretly craving a follow up to Linda, my first owned PXL skin line. Grace is exactly what I wanted … and oh, are you ready?! There are freckles!! So get a load of this … for the same price ($1500L), you will get the usual 3 brow colors AND a freckled and nonfreckled body.  If my grammar school math is correct, that’s six, yes, six skins!  That’s a lot of skins, batman!

If you are new to Hart’s PXL skins, he provides with every purchase three different brow colors – black, blonde and red/brunette.  With this release since it has the freckled option, the freckles will come in each of those brown tones as well.  This is how you are getting the six skins for the same price. (Yeah I redundantly said the same thing, but I thought I should clarify.)

If my last review didn’t at least peek your curiousity for all your first timers to PXL, lets hope this one will. And hopefully all you freckle lovers will swing by to check out these skins!

*Review* Efe Skins

There has been a ton of buzz about the new releases from PXL.  Hart Larsson, PXL‘s owner, shared with me one of the new lines called Efe.  Shortly before this release, I found PXL and instantly fell head over heels.  There are a ton of makeup options jammed into each of the lines.  It took me some time and many visits to pick the couple of skins I wanted when I first found this store many months ago.

Efe is one of the darker tones I have seen from PXL. Quite refreshing to see this diversity in a skin designer’s offering.  Another noticeable trait is the overall creamyness.  Normally I wear Linda, a lighter PXL tone where the skin is much more forgiving for blending.  Efe, being a much darker selection, is not as welcoming to the heavier shading. Like most dark tones, it is difficult to create the same subtlities that we enjoy in the lighter shades.  Does this make this line undesireable? Not in the least!

The makeups are quite appealing and unique. With the dark canvas, the cateye liner promotes such a sexy appeal to the overall face.  I think one of my favorite makeups I saw has to be the darklips and glossy eyes.  I think its the appeal to have the white toned eyeshadows with that dark skin.  So stunning!

Potentially you aren’t looking for such a dark tone but are looking for a sunkiss or a more pale skin, check out PXL.  With the wide range of makeups and tone offering, there is surely something that will catch your eye.  Perhaps you will be like me, making frequent visits to pick the right one or three or five skins…

The Power of Pink

Typically I’m a jeans and tee kinda chick.  The other side of my wardrobe is black.  Its a disease I think.  Anytime I go shopping, I tend to pick out all things black.  Okay sometimes I do do pinks and what’s even more rare is other color.   Really its all about pink and the basics this time.

In my opinion, no wardrobe is complete without a good basic black trouser.  Since I live under a rock I never really thought to check out DeLa for clothing.  I know, don’t ask. Glad I did tho! These pants come in a cropped style as well as the full pant.

Well with this being about pink, I pulled out that great freebie from Artilleri, one of my oldest favs for pink shoes and paired them with the new bag from Shiny Things.  Simple touches of pink in the right spots make it not “in  your face” pink.

Check out the cute bag!  I did all the pics for the post using the built in AO. The AO comes with two versions, one for dresses and another for the poofier skirts.  Same AO it looks like but the arms hang a little further out from the body. What a great little bonus! 

Even the makeup from Chai has a subtle hint of pinks.  Keeping the skin tone on the paler side, it was a perfect compliment for a white wig.  Ah, my newest fetish, blond hair.  If you look close enough, I tossed in a tiny little detail of a complimentary color to all this pink, turquoise.  This wig from Exile as a color scripted barrette.  So why not add in a hint of another color.

For the accessories, I wanted a black that added an extra punch.  I pulled out that well adored choker from Indyra Originals. Matching the “beads” on the necklace, I used a simple multiple strand bracelet.

I love simple and easy outfits.  With any outfit, alot is never needed to make a statement. Keeping it simple is best sometimes. Off to check out some of new releases around the grid.  Check back soon for more mashups.

*Review* Digit Darkes: Clyde Boot

Oh my … new shoes, er, boots from Digit Darkes! Yes’m. Newness. Even thought is listed as a boot, I think its a more of a cross over.  This boot is an interesting hybrid of a classic pump and ankle boot.  Adorable to no end! The colors that I have seen are Raven, Charcoal (worn in the pic), Black, and White.  The shoe itself looks to remain the constant color in each of these.  It remains black as the remainder of the shoe is the color noted.  The best feature is the flexi bow that is woven into the top.   Oh yeah, you gotta love that there is a touch script for adjustments.  What a nice added bonus to the new shoe trends.
