Vignettes: Country Dreams

By Luna Jubilee  //  Vignettes  //  3 Comments

Introducing a new series I’m calling Luna Jubilee’s Vignettes. On occasion, when the mood strikes, I’ll share a fictional short story accompanied by a photo or two. These types of posts won’t be a style post but rather whatever character I dream of and share. So let’s get started:

Country Dreams

Tired from cleaning and unpacking at the family cottage, I decided to visit my horse Caelus. He’s old and no longer sees a saddle on his back. He still makes an excellent companion though, providing an ear to my rambling that never gives any backchat, just simple pricked ears and the occasional soft neigh or nuzzle. I used to visit him often as girl, when he was still a pony, and we used to explore the river bed and the endless grass fields around my grandmother’s property. We each went our own ways, me a city girl and him a stock horse, but I’d still visit every now and then lead him around the same path telling him my troubles. Now the city girl and the stock horse have both retired to the country, to enjoy the simple pleasures of nature and company that we did as children.
