Daydreaming

The theme for this round of Collabor88 is Daydream. Instantly I’m thinking of soft pale tones of blues and yellows and completely relaxed just like in my prior post.

In all the items for the monthly event the League necklace caught my attention. I didn’t realize that the sky photos in the charms move. Its a moving cloud scene sliding across the charms as if a continuous sky. Tons of different numbers of chains and charms to choose from in the pack.

Using this necklace, perhaps in another version from the pack, would be ideal for my Dream Big List posts!

Mourning Black

Black is the color for mourning and one of my favorite colors. I even had a full-on black period, like, 3 years ago in SecondLife. Something about the darkness is so alluring for me. I just love it. I even love it more when two designers who I keep my eye on release goodies in this color.

The party dress is from Addict and comes in plenty of colors. Most are vivid and fresh for the season even-though I choose the doom and gloom of black. I couldn’t resist either cuz of the new jewelry from Naith Smit Design. Ain’t it just vavavoom?!

I seldom change my hair color but this post and this skin it was a must in my opinion. Another rarity is photographing the goth makeups. Check out ISPACHI for other tones and makeups. Just like the Addict dress, there are more happier makeups and darker tones.

I may just feel another black era coming on again. If only I can persuade Kyoot to bring back her all black sim. This photo still remains my favorite from that point in time from that sim. I love the old photos, good memories.

Eolande’s

Eolande Elvehjem is back to creating more often! To get her back in the swing, she started with a mix n match earring set in several different colors. I think the earrings are super cute, I love the whimsicalness.

Jewelry Fair: The Charity

Over the course of the past week, I’ve talked about individual elements of the fair. I’ve yet to cover “the why” for this fair – The Charity. Its not only a great way for designers to show their imagination and innovation but also to be able to give back to the community.

Beast’s Castle, the darker of the two castle sims, hosts the silent auction benefiting Oxfam International. At this location there are one-of-a-kind items up for bid.

In case you’re not in the mood for an auction there is always meandering through the sims to your favorite jewlers finding the charity vendors. The fair’s official blog state:

“100% of the proceeds from vendor entry fees, auctions for one-of-a-kind items created especially for this Fair, paid sponsorships, and special events proceeds will all go to support Oxfam. Many jewelers are also putting up special vendors to share 50% of proceeds from the sales of specially designed themed pieces and some of their creative best.”

Jewelry Fair: The Theme

This year’s Jewelry Fair theme is “Beauty and the Beast”. When I first heard this theme I thought of the typical fantasy but had no idea how it would come together. I was so very pleasantly surprised to see a light and dark side of the castles and village settings like I presented in my first post of this Jewelry Fair series.

Now that I’ve experienced the fair, I saw the full theme come to life. Each sim tells its own story with complimentary designers appropriately located. This made finding designers so much easier and, for sure, allowed more lindens to leave my pocket.

Feel free to browse all four sims and get lost in the fantasy of the theme or choose to teleport to each directly. One of my good friends blogged the emergence of the theme. Her post is a wonderful story.

Jewelry Fair: The Events

Its only the second day of the Jewelry Fair being opened and there are a ton of events planned. As you’re browse each of the booths, take a break to have fun by checking out a few of the activities.

The events range from music and dancing, jewelry making classes and even a silent auction. There is even a super fun and surely will be full of laughs event – a kissing booth! All the events and schedules are listed on the official Jewelry Fair 2010 blog.

Jewelry Fair: The Location

The Jewelry Fair is officially opened! This year’s fair is hosted on four sims all designed around the Beauty & the Beast theme. Its two sims of a castle setting, one light & one dark and the other two sims are set in town and a type of gypsy camp. Its a great layout, rezzes quickly – making shopping so much fun and easy to navigate.

The idea behind Etheria is designers are to bring their talents to the jewelers. The two work in unison to compliment the jewelry. When I saw that Darion and Evie were paired, I was excited!

What a dream

I really should stop saying I’m not a gown person. I guess I am. I enjoy the drama of a long flowing skirt. Miamai, for me, was “introduced” to me during the Pose Fair a few months ago. When I saw there is a clothing line as well as awesome poses, it caught my attention.

Caroline’s Jewelry has been and will continue to be a wonderful brand name. The store is full of many new items and some of my old favorites. Caroline’s jewelry is always beautiful. This set will be released during the week long event called Etheria and it starts tomorrow.

The best location to show off both these items is the MacBeth sim. I shot another gown post here just a few months back. The sim is intriguing and allows items to be rezed. Perfect for photographers who use pose stands. Or you can pick up Tillie’s Pose Stand to take photos anywhere! I’ve been using this pose system for 2 years or so now.

Creamed Corn Wrestling

When Elizabeth told me she had something new planned, it intrigued me. I had no idea she was planning to set the fat pack for sale during her SL Daily Deals day. No. Clue. When I opened the site today I knew I needed to make time to get the set blogged.

Frippery isn’t a store that I see blogged often … and wow, shoppers are missing this brand. The products are top notch for quality and so very whimsical. Its a smaller boutique with a ton of personality.

Speaking of a personality, the blog title was suggested by OMGWTF Barbecue. I think she’s stalking my plurk line just to suggest name posts. This was her second title, check out her first. I’m such a glutton for punishment.
