To The Beach!

I don’t know about you all …. but I’m so set to hit the beach!  For my RL location, the warm weather is on its way and its time to think about the summer and the shore.  Yeah, here, again in RL, we call it “down the shore”.  Its a local saying meaning we are going to the beach.  Regardless of the beach’s location to you, its always said “down the shore”.  Growing up, the shore was due east, not south, and still we said that were going down the shore. Another fav is when you ask where someone is, the response is “they’re down the shore” (of course spoken like Sly Stallone (aka Rocky) since I grew up in the Philadelphia region).  Many uses and still weird to folks that aren’t native to my hometown.  Ok, I digress.

I would so wear this for travelling to the shore.  Yup, even the big hat. Ya gotta protect your skin in the summer sun at all times.  So let’s hit up the hat first. For weeks I wanted this hat, I saw it on someone in a store, inspected it and found it was from Cachet.  Like a dope I had no clue MMS, as it was called at the time, was closed for renovations and TP’d over to the store, without sucess. So I waited until they reopened. See I do have patience!

Next are several finds from yesterday shopping trips. [ATOMIC] was having a huge skin sale, I just had to snag another skin.  Gawd my skin collection is getting out of hand. Still I wanted, and I now have this cute skin. It has soft freckles too, perfect for summer. Another sale was over at *BOOM*.  Yup, I took advantage of all the awesome sales! The long shirt is part of a bikini but works great with the tweed pants.  Instead of the bikini top, that would be too easy, I swapped it out for a tube top.  It works great since the front of the tweed pants are low slung and the tube top is cut short, its all covered.  Still it shows a tint of belly.

The hair and accessories is what really finishes the look.  I choose one my favs from the new >TRUTH< collection, Sehra. The only true color in this outfit is the pink flower. It gives a focal point to the overall look without overpowering the muted khakis and pale creams. For just a slight more drama, I added a chunky bracelet from Artilleri and a cute little choker I found last nite.

I just heard the [ATOMIC] main store is reopened, so you can find me there this morning!  After that, I ‘m going to the beach!!  ciao!

*Review* Stitch by Stitch

Stitch by Stitch’s owner, Sevenstar Amat, has been hard at work in her sewing room.  Her latest two releases are so beautifully crafted.  You can almost feel the twill fabric and the crocheted accents.  Penelope features a pencil skirt with smooth lines.  I love that this really shows the female form. Pilar as the same feminine qualities with the asymmetrical ruffle around the waist.  The system pants lend very well to a stacked heel.  Its amazing all the detailing in the belts, cuffs and bodice. Simply excellent.  Thank you Sevenstar for sharing your hard work with me.

Accessory Highlight: The Hat

Rummaging through my inventory for house decor, I saw all these hats in my inventory.  One I’ve been drooling over for weeks that I never wore and another that I guess I bought that same day? I have no clue.  Eh, just like real life, the stuff still has tags!

Why not show them off!? Then I realized unless there is an event or a reason like shielding your eyes from that brutal SL sun, hats just aren’t worn.  They aren’t common place in everyday fashion.

I have a cancer fund raising event today and need an outfit.  This first outfit would be perfect.  The hat is sleek and truly sexy.  It hides the eyes giving that hint of mystery with elegance.  Keeping the simple lines of the hats, the outfit pulls itself together.  From the mini jacket and frilly collar to the capris and fishies, the outfit is very femine and alluring.  The hints of red on the shoes, lips and nails against the monochrome tones adds that sex appeal.  Walk into any event with this on, surely heads will turn.

My second outfit is more the casual relaxed look.  Appropriate for any beach or pool party.  The colors are fun and festive, remininscent of the 1970s.  The greeny-yellow tones and pattern on the shirt blend well with the brown pant and hat.  Pairing this with a stacked platform shoes and some stone jewelry will add that cute earthyness.

I love the bell shape of the hat.  Viewing the hat from the side hides the shoulders with its extra large size.  Even the asymmetrical hem of the sweater is sure to be a fav with the pushed up sleeves.  Its just adorable!

Don’t be afraid to check out the hat section again in your favorite store. You never really know what you’ll find and feel inspired to create from your own “closet”.

My New Love

Oh this is squeelie goodness for me.  The muted neutral tones, the mix match patterns all with a hint of gold and a splash of bold color.  *swoons*

When I saw the new Kyoot Army release, I ran instantly over.  I so knew the Armidi shoes in my “closet” would work … but needed a cute clutch in the shade off coloring though.  =DeLa*= filled that void. The unique shiny crocodile texture seems to just work with the gold giraffe bangle.

Okay now its time to hit a few more shops I’ve seen new yumminess at … and you will be seeing some more fun funky mashups.  I guess its my mood lately … ah my creativity is back. Dam I love this feeling.

SySy Chapman of SySy’s Designs shared with me her latest designs. *Review* Rebel Hope Designs

Rebel Hope, owner of Rebel Hope Designs, is one of those quiet designers who’s creations speak volumes.  She is an amazingly talented lady.  For over a year, I’ve worn her gowns and costumes.  Anytime I needed a gown for special occasions, I’ve always gone to her store.

Rebel, being such a sweetie, shared with me her Relay for Life dress called Laurie.  Not unlike her others, this one has rich textures and remarkable detail.  Laurie a cute purple tee-length skirt dress that also includes a pink bracelet, matching clutch, black stockings.

With this RFL dress, I was given a stunning sequin gown which is her anniversary gown.  What makes this completely delish is the backless style and floor-length skirt, surely to turn any head at your next event. (Congrats, Rebel, on three unbelievable years of designing!)

Rebel again spoiled me and sent over with the dresses a fantastic tuxedo.  I asked Dax Greer to help me with this shot.  As soon as he was in my studio with this on … wow – I was in love … with the tux. I swear the tux.   oh um … yeah, back to the review… Rebel takes the classic style of a black and white tux and adds her own flair.  The white vest has a beautiful texture which enhancesthe style. The ascot and tails creates the formal appeal giving the tuxedo the “polished” look.  Many tux colors are available as well as a wide selection for vest and tie colors sold as separates.

*Review* Persona

Myllie Writer, who recently celebrated one year in SL, owns Persona. Her store is filled with great finds which are all super easy to mix and match.  Checking out the fashion tends this season, Myllie really got this!  The mini dress with leggings is super hot.  This mini dress highlights a beautiful design on the front.  She shared with me this grey one and one in gold.

Not only was she generous enough to send the dresses, but also a few other goodies that made for a happy Luna   A few times my mash ups have had her pieces in them.  Not only is her place packed with great basics for your wardrobe … but it has eyes, jewelry (also featured in the pic), animations, swim wear … the list is endless.  (Guys – she even has a few times for you!!)

Beautifully Mellow

Ahh, finally I was able to create a  look that needed lindens to complete. eh maybe I’m finally realizing my inventory is bursting … or that I’ve now come down with a fever for even thinking something like that?!

Lately, my music’s been mellow and somber. I guess its effecting me and beginning to reflect outward … surely there must be a reason for this feeling of “blah”.  Who knows … at this point, its me, taking it all in … absorbing, adjusting.  Maybe I want more?

Form Fitting

I really don’t have plans for this blog … very similar to the old format (if you can call that a “format”).  Since the change of blogs, I’ve got this goofy creative streak.  There are a few unseen outfits in my arsenal of pics … so who knows how long this landslide of posts will continue.
